Land of Enchantment
Motor Tour
REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS SUNDAY MAY 29TH!
Our gathering point will be in Grants on Thursday, June 2, 2022. While there, take in the sights, local museums and a walk in the Fire & Ice Park. Drive under the neon arch shaped like the iconic Route 66 emblem. Park under it to get a great photo of you with the neon arch.
Friday we'll head east taking in the views of majestic mesas & lava fields. We'll travel through the lands of the Acoma and Laguna people before heading south and east on NM 6, part of the pre-1937, which takes us through Los Lunas, the Isleta Nation, and through Albuquerque's south side. Then its eastbound through Tijeras Canyon and onto Moriarty to bed down. Saturday we drive south of Route 66 to Route 60 as we trade the I-40 stress for a pleasant, scenic drive through salt fields and across open plains. Passing though Vaughn we soon find ourselves in Santa Rosa for a quick lunch and fun times at Route 66 Auto Museum before heading back east a bit to jump onto another pre-1937 alignment of Route 66 heading north on US 84 to Romeroville. Side trips will be offered through Anton Chico and Tecolotito at Dilia. The tour ends in Tucumcari with Closing Dinner and Ceremonies of Raffle Prizes and Awards! Additional optional adventures in and around the area on Sunday. So many photo ops, so little time! Join the camaraderie as we explore 66 in the middle part of the state with Rt66 friends! Registration is Non-refundable. If event is canceled, entries will be transferred to 2023 event or refunded. |
