Los Lunas

Currently the seat of Valencia county, Los Lunas was once part of the San Clemente Land Grant. The Spanish settled the fertile bosque along the Rio Grande. The community is named after the Luna family, prominent ranchers and politically active. The original alignment from 1926-1937 passed southward from Santa Fe to Bernalillo through Albuquerque's 4th street into the South Valley, past Isleta Pueblo and into Los Lunas where it then turned westward to Grants and Gallup. The city does not currently have a Web Site but you can write or call the Chamber for information.
